What is a Mandala?
The word Mandala (pronunciation mon- dah- lah) means circle. Mandalas are ancient tools used for healing, meditation, art, and storytelling. They span cultures and religions and often represent a person or community’s journey through life. I first connected with mandalas while in Peru. You know how you meet someone new and feel like you’ve known each other forever? That’s how I felt when I met my first mandala. My soul seemed to recognize the familiar symbol.
Why Leap Mandalas?
Leap Mandalas combine ancient arts with your present goals.
Some time after I designed the first Leap Mandala I learned that through the centuries mandalas were often used to trace one’s life journey. Suddenly it made perfect sense that I had intuitively created a mandala specifically to track my journey to new habits and next leaps. Your Leap Mandala connects your present-day accomplishments to a powerful ancient tradition our ancestors used to tell their stories. It adds such a presence to the process.
Leaps take courage, and courage comes from the heart.
Leap Mandalas engage the heart in your action-taking ways because mandalas speak the language of the heart – shapes, symbols, colors, form. Your heart can get behind your intentions in a deeper way because it understands what you are creating and why. It can get behind this kind of tracking device.
You’ve got to understand, I love checklists. I’m a linear thinker. I like putting a check in those little boxes to the left of each task. I say that just in case you think I don’t know how to move in a straight line. I do, but come to think of it, life seems to prefer twists and turns. Right? So Leap Mandalas are aligned with the way life works.
You are reminded of your progress.
You know how a certain piece of jewelry or a simple rock on the shelf represents a meaningful moment or milestone in your life? No one else may even know it, but you do, and it makes you feel good.
That’s how it is with your Leap Mandala. It represents both the milestone you are creating and the progress you’ve made toward it. To others, it is a piece of art; to you, it is a symbol of the leaps you are taking to live brave, give big, and have fun.
